As potters, we often reminisce about the first piece we ever crafted. Mine was in 1980. I was a shy six year old, and it was at the Salt Lake City Art Festival. Rows of wheels lined a room, each with an assistant ready to guide eager hands. I did not possess those, but I had a mother willing to push me beyond my comfort zone, and toward this new adventure.
I’m still not sure how much I contributed. The very patient assistant put her hands around mine to form that first piece, but I was quite proud, and maybe a little mesmerized, when we picked it up a week later. It wasn’t trimmed, and it was dipped in clear glaze, but it was mine, something that I created.
Through the years, that modest bowl has moved back and forth across the country with me many times on my life’s journey. Today it sits in my kitchen window, a daily reminder of where I’ve been, who that shy little six-year-old has become, and my passion for this art form.

As I’ve honed my craft over the past 25 years, I’ve realized there are ways to streamline and improve parts of the pottery process. This realization was the birth of my first design for The Pottery Toolkit, the Seamless Form System.
The Pottery Toolkit is more than just a supplier of tools; it’s a culmination of a lifelong love, a testament to the beauty of transformation that clay offers us. It is a reflection of my commitment to helping you foster your creative spark and the joy of pottery whether you are a beginner or a pro.
Welcome to our community, where every piece tells a story, and every tool holds endless possibilities.
